Welcome to National Association of Medical Professionals.
(NAMP)
What is Certification?
Certification, as it is commonly understood in our society, is a credential earned when someone "stands" for a national or an international examination. It means these candidates have been willing to "go the extra mile" to compare their knowledge and skill against a national norm.
The credential is awarded to candidates who pass there area of study Certification/Recertification Exam. The credential must be recertified every year by continuing education or re-examination to give evidence of continuing competency and knowledge, and thus better protect patients. Students and Medical professionals can also be awarded a credential by practical skill observation only! A licensed RN Nurse can and will observe your clinical practical Technique and can authorize awarding the credential for that professional skill.
Performance Measurment
Do I have to practice in my field to maintain
my certification?
Yes, NAMP require a minimum of 1,000 observed practical skills assessment hours during the certification period. It is important to remember that you must meet the requirements that are in place in the year you certify. While other National Certification Organizations only require there members to pay a yearly renewal fee, and participate in a number of CEUs to maintain there certification. NAMP has raised the bar by requiring all of our members to practice and keep current there clinical skills by participating in Mandatory yearly Observed practical skills assessment, and the written test. A Registered Nurse (RN) employed by NAMP, examines, observes and evaluates all Candidates who are awarded the NAMP credential and certification License.
